Funeral Mass of Christian Burial

Your Christian Burial Rites…Vigil, Liturgy and Committal
The Vigil (Wake Service), the Funeral Liturgy (Mass), and the Committal (Burial/Entombment) each have distinct purposes in the journey to healing and wholeness. The Vigil, the Funeral Liturgy and the Committal set us on a path to healing, wholeness and peace. We don’t have to face it alone, nor should we, our church will be there for us, for that we are truly thankful.

Our parish offers support to those grieving the loss of a loved one. We wish to assist your family during this difficult time.

Coordination: Every baptized Catholic is entitled to a funeral
Mass. We work with all funeral homes; simply ask your funeral director to call us to make the arrangements.

What is included? The complete service includes the wake, the Mass at the church, and the burial at the cemetery.

Schedule: Funerals are held at 10:00 a.m. Call office for Priest Availability.

Options and Language: The Mass may be celebrated with the body present, with the cremated remains (ashes), or with a photograph of the deceased. The liturgy and music can be in Spanish, English, or bilingual.

Contact and Assistance: If you need assistance, please contact the parish office by phone at 773-768-2100 or via email at      [email protected] or [email protected].

The souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and no torment will ever touch them. In the eyes of the foolish they seemed to have died, and their departure was thought to be a disaster, and their going from us to be their destruction; but they are at peace  -Wisdom 3:1-3
